Blackburn Rovers 0 vs Chelsea 1

Frank Lampard’s sixth goal in eight matches secured a vital victory, after a run of just one win in four matches, as Andre Villas-Boas’s team collected a first clean sheet in the Premier League since the opening weekend of the season, despite Petr Cech suffering a suspected broken nose after just seven minutes.


The match started with the home supporters booing John Terry in his every touch.Petr Cech put in a heroic performance in staying on through a head injury that saw him being treated for sever minutes who collided with Ashely Cole as he tried to thwart Yakubu shot. Both teams played prettily as they both exchanged threats. However,none of the opportunities converted both teams as they were 0-0 at half-time.


In the second half five minutes after the restart, which saw Fernando Torres replace Florent Malouda managed to maximize the ball after Frank Lampard’s cross, unfortunately saved by Robinson. Soon three minutes later Ivanovic who with his tricks managed to cross the ball inside the penalty area using his outside of the right foot and Lampard succeeded in heading the ball and SCORED! Robinson just looked awe as he saw the ball lodge in his own net. This goal didn’t shake them as Cech saved brilliantly of Hanley’s shot in the 56th minute.
After few offensive attacks from both teams,Chelsea dominated the game despite Blackburn’s attack. Both teams failed to convert any opportunities created into goals. It was a lone Frank Lampard goal which separated both the teams at the final wistle.
