Premier LeagueAfter a two-week hiatus, the Premier League returns to action with nine matches on offer this weekend. Swansea City will be involved in the Capital One Cup final on Sunday so Liverpool have the weekend off.

Manchester City’s status as champions looks to have come to a dead end. The Citizens might have closed an eight-point gap with six games to go last season to snatch the title from rivals Manchester United on the final day, but there seems little, if any chance of them repeating that feat this time around. While Manchester United continue to win and tick the games off, City stuttered to a disappointing loss at Southampton two weeks ago to lose further ground on their local rivals, who seem in complete command of their fate this time around.
