Chelsea have confirmed that manager Andre Villas-Boas has been sacked and that making a change was the club’s ‘only option’.
Villas-Boas only took charge at Stamford Bridge last summer following the departure of Carlo Ancelotti, but has endured a difficult time at the helm. A club statement read: “Andre Villas-Boas has parted company with Chelsea Football Club today. The board would like to record our gratitude for his work and express our disappointment that the relationship has ended so early. Unfortunately the results and performances of the team have not been good enough and were showing no signs of improving at a key time in the season. The club is still competing in the latter stages of the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup, as well as challenging for a top-four spot in the Premier League, and we aim to remain as competitive as possible on all fronts. With that in mind we felt our only option was to make a change at this time.”
“With immediate effect Roberto Di Matteo has been appointed first-team coach on an interim basis until the end of the season.”
Shame, AVB was doing real good for us Gooners. I wonder if Roberto is the best man to steer Chelsea into the top four or at the minimum keep them in the UCL.
I hope he brings Chelsea from the dead and vanish the disturbance between the players!!!

It was about time!
Thanks for reblogging and reading it!! 🙂
What do you mean? This is about soccer. Must read.
Hehe..Thanks!!!
I so wanted to give him a chance, like I said in one of my blog posts, however a report I read yesterday where he said come the summer he was getting rid of at least 10 players and named them spelled disaster. How can he expect to keep the respect of players when he spouts shite out like that.
That’s true man!!! And Chelsea lack in discipline in both, the players and the Master-AVB!
It’s not all his fault. It takes time and money for Chelsea to recover.
Bon Courage!!!
he was given enough time at Stamford Bridge..he too knew that his time is nearing to an end….and what do u expect from a manger who has lost to all smaller teams and has broken the discipline of the senior players??!!
Understood.
